  • Completed 'Certificate in Deaf Studies: Teaching NZSL' qualification or equivalent.
  • Achieved over 200 NZSL teaching hours in community education (to adults).

Special Exemption

  • Current NZSLTA member.
  • This category recognises those tutors with more than 10 years of NZSL teaching experience and 50 hours of professional development prior to 1st April 2005 deadline.

Make sure you collect all required documents before doing this form, such as:

  • Proof of professional development, courses, workshops, conferences attended (related to NZSL teaching to adults)
  • Hours of NZSL teaching. Ask your course coordinator to write a letter of proof.
  • Evidence of tertiary qualification/s e.g. Certificate in Deaf Studies: Teaching NZSL

If you’re not registered or already registered as  Provisional Tutor and want to change your registration category e.g. move up to Provisional or Qualified category, you’ll need to fill in the RAP form and provide evidence. Please email your application and documentation/s to RAP.

RAP system is currently being reviewed. There will be some changes to RAP information and categories later this year.
